bible-journal“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

The new year is a great time to give ourselves to the Scriptures. The word of God is our food. If that’s true, then we will be in bad condition if we neglect it. On the other hand, if we enjoy a steady intake of the words that are sweeter than honey, then we will be strengthened in our daily Christian walk.

This is the bible reading plan (click here and here) provided by Providence Church, and the one I have been using for the past few years. Here’s a few things I like about this one:

  • It takes you through the entire Scripture in one year.
  • It provides four readings each day from different parts of the Bible.
  • The readings are fairly short giving time for meditation.
  • It gives 5 catch up days at the end of the month.

The print out will give you four bookmarks for the whole year that you can put in your Bible. This is just one of many options. For other ways to read the Bible through in 2015, Justin Taylor has collected an array of options here. May the Lord bless you in the reading of his mighty word.

“I want to know one thing, the way to heaven; how to land safe on that happy shore. God Himself has condescended to teach the way; for this very end He came from heaven. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God!”  – John Wesley
