Princess Talk

FROZENIf you are not picking up on the examples of the modern Princess, be sure that your little girls are. Set before them the self-sacrificing, submitted, truly bold example of Queen Esther:

“It’s time to see what I can do. To test the limits and break through. No right, no wrong, no rules for me. I’m free. Let it go, let it go. And I’ll rise like the break of dawn. Let it go, let it go. That perfect girl is gone.” (Princess Elsa – Frozen)

“Mother would be so furious. Well, that’s okay! I mean, what she doesn’t know won’t kill her, right? Oh my gosh… This would kill her! … This is so fun!” (Rapunzel-Tangled)

“You were never there for me! Do you ever bother to ask what I want? No! You walk around telling me what to do, what not to do! Trying to make me be like you! Well, I’m not going to be like you!”
(Princess Merida-Brave)

Mordecai (a godly man who had taken her as a daughter) commands Esther to risk her life by going to the King to plead for the life of God’s people. In response to the command of Mordecai:

“Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.” (Queen Esther – Bible)
