I have been saved by God’s grace alone from my dreadful sins and thus must be ready for every good work, speak evil of no one, be kind and gentle. Honestly, it is often easy to lack compassion for others. It is easy to view people as the problem rather than image bearers of God in need of grace. It is helpful to remember my own foolishness, disobedience, and enslavement to many passions. Who am I to have received mercy? Jesus? The Holy Spirit? I am a debtor mercy alone.
